SUMMER CAMP TO GO is an innovative, blended model of summer camp that combines an amazing box filled with fantastic stuff along with a dynamic, interactive, virtual experience. Each camp has been crafted by a team of experts for grades K-12 to energize and promote an outstanding remote teaching environment. Developed with busy parents and educators in mind, every box includes not only all the gizmos, goodies, and other cool supplies for camp experiments, but also access to engaging online content such as daily live instruction and chat with content area experts, exciting video lessons and demonstrations, bonus resource material, and more! But, not to worry, we curate our camps to be a combination of online and offline experiences. So, even if you don’t have access to the technology you can still enjoy all the awesomeness of SUMMER CAMP TO GO!
SUMMER CAMP TO GO is based in the Central Time Zone. Therefore, you will need to adjust your camp time depending on where you live.
Of course, our camps are built to allow you to attend on your schedule, so you can technically log in at any time. However, if you would like to be a part of the LIVE Experience then you will be required to log in at the times listed on your Camp Agenda, accounting for the difference between your Time Zone and ours.
Absolutely not! SUMMER CAMP TO GO boxes come with a full color instructional booklet and all the equipment, supplies, and materials to complete all the activities and experiments. Although online participation is designed to enhance each camp experience, there is still plenty of unplugged fun in the box to keep campers busy without technology!
To participate in the Online/Live Camp Component, each camper will need access to an internet-connected device (phone, tablet or computer). However, your child will not be sitting and staring at a screen for an entire week. We carefully design camps to utilize both online and offline experiences. In the SUMMER CAMP TO GO box each camper receives, campers will receive paperwork that contains a password, allowing them to access online content and digital resources. Campers assemble in secure meeting spaces where they can collaborate safely and effectively, together, in real-time. While our campers are in training, SUMMER CAMP TO GO crew will be facilitating live chat sessions (including video) throughout the day to answer questions, keep them engaged, and provide feedback.
SUMMER CAMP TO GO is a highly interactive remote learning experience where campers will work in multiple learning environments. Your child will start in a large group, or team, where they will be introduced to a particular activity in a live video session with our expert instructors using an interactive platform where campers ask questions and can follow along with all the exciting activities. Once the initial training is through, campers are encouraged to work individually and in small groups, or crews, to accomplish their missions or complete certain tasks. During this self-guided phase of the instructional model, campers are given thorough asynchronous (recorded) learning tools to help them with their work.
Additionally, should your camper miss one of the live sessions, there is no reason to worry. Every live training session is immediately recorded and uploaded to the interactive training platform for viewing. Recorded sessions may be watched at any time.
This is camp, your way, on your time. Follow along with us, if you’d like, or not. It’s entirely up to you.
Absolutely! One week prior to the start of your camp, you will receive a big box of awesome for use in your upcoming adventure. If you have siblings, feel free to share the experience together. For most activities, there are enough resources to do the activity a few times. Therefore, it is definitely possible for a couple of campers in similar grade levels to enjoy and use the same box. Fair warning, though, some activities share better than others.
We offer a variety of camps for students in grades K-12. The experiments and hands-on activities in each camp box have been carefully curated and thoughtfully designed to fit a variety of learning styles for each age/grade level cluster. We strive to make our camps highly engaging and challenging but there is serious scaffolding included, as well. We work very hard to ensure that our campers do not become frustrated due to the difficulty (or simplicity) of projects. Whichever grade level you choose, we promise they will love it!
With all our camps, we encourage grown-ups to volunteer their services as trusty lab assistants. Depending on the age and ability level of the camper, parents can determine which activities are done together or may be completed independently. We do recommend a grown-up always be present when children in grades K-6 are participating in camp experiments and activities.
Each camp box is as unique as the camper, so the exact items in each box depend on which camp you choose! Rest assured; you will receive everything needed for an incredible camp experience!
This includes specialized supplies and materials to conduct all experiments and activities, full-color instructional booklets for campers and parents, a VR headset (phone not included), safety equipment, special SWAG, and more! There are a few things that we don’t include because you almost certainly have them at home (like water).
From conception to finished product, our camps are carefully crafted and developed with some of the most energetic educators, engineers, artists, and designers you will ever meet. Collaboration and curation with industry leaders like NASA, Shell, NOAA (and many others) is also a key phase in camp development. After our in-house panel of professionals has pored over the content, everything that is included in a camp box must then make it through an evaluation by our toughest critics: kids. They take product testing to a whole new level! We incorporate their feedback to ensure every SUMMER CAMP TO GO box is fun and exciting from beginning to end. Our boxes are also highly educational (but we won’t tell them if you won’t!)
During registration, you will select a specific camp start date and see a registration deadline. If you place your order by the deadline, you will receive your SUMMER CAMP TO GO box approximately one week prior to the start of your scheduled camp start date. For registrations after the deadline, we offer expedited shipping options at checkout. We know you are waiting. Patiently. We will send a shipping confirmation email as soon as the box ships out.
Don’t worry! We know that camp won’t go well with a box of broken parts and spilled liquid. We have you covered. Let us know right away by contacting us at support@summercamptogo.com as soon as you realize things aren’t as they should be. That way, we will have time to get replacement items to you by the start of camp. We never include anything highly hazardous in our boxes. But we like to play it safe. So, if your box is leaking, please wear some gloves before handling the contents for disposal.

Safety is one of our top priorities. All of our activities are designed with safety in mind. We don’t approve anything at SUMMER CAMP TO GO without making sure it’s fully compliant with the latest Health and Safety regulations. We do recommend that all camp activities and experiments are always conducted under adult supervision. ALLERGY WARNING: Some of our boxes contain food, please read our policy FAQ on food allergies if this is a concern for you.
When food items are given, the ingredients of each item are listed either on the package of the food item or in the booklet included in your box. Unfortunately, we are not able to substitute items in individual boxes. Please be aware that some food products may be manufactured in a facility that also handles common allergens such as wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, eggs, milk, fish, and shellfish.
All SUMMER CAMP TO GO camp boxes are assembled in the United States.
At SUMMER CAMP TO GO, our number one priority is the health and safety of every family we serve. We want to assure you that due to the changing nature of the COVID-19 outbreak, we are closely monitoring and updating how we should adjust our business operations on a daily basis based on guidance from national, state, and local authorities. All our boxes are packed at our facility in the United States by our employees. We are following all CDC measures and guidance on how to adjust our business operations and are closely working with all employees through several measures, including: encouraging all employees to report any symptoms of illness of any kind, so they do not report to work, training for all employees on respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene, and performing extensive environmental cleanings throughout our entire facility. While we do offer refunds on a case-by-case basis, you do not need to return your SUMMER CAMP TO GO box to qualify. We never re-purpose boxes or supplies that have been previously used.
